Debra Bowen keynote speaker at Roosevelt Dinner

Holiday Inn on the Bay
1355 North Harbor Drive
San Diego, CA 92101

California Secretary of State Debra Bowen, a nationally recognized leader in open government and fair elections, will deliver the keynote address at the 30th Annual Roosevelt Dinner on Saturday, April 10.

In her three years as the state's chief elections officer, Bowen has commissioned a top-to-bottom review of voting technology, strictly limited the use of touchscreen machines at polling places, and imposed significant new security and auditing requirements at the state and county levels.

During her former service as a state legislator, Bowen authored the first-in-the-world law putting legislative information online, giving the public direct access to information about bills, voting records, and more. She also wrote landmark laws to protect people from becoming identity theft victims and worked with community-based groups to close the digital divide.

Secretary Bowen will be joining many other state and local elected officials and candidates -- as well as Democratic organizers, volunteers, and community allies -- at this event, which will take place at the Holiday Inn on the Bay downtown. The dinner is now just over a month away, so please purchase your ticket today so ensure a seat!
