 Author and Vietnam Veteran Terry Hertzler at Fallbrook's Writers Read
Fallbrook's Writers Read, a monthly gathering of writers and readers, presents author and poet Terry Hertzler on April 8 at 6 p.m. A Vietnam veteran, Hertzler is the author of “The Way of the Snake,” a book of poetry on the Vietnam War, “Second Skin: Stories and Poems,” and several other books of poetry and fiction. Hertzler's reading will be followed by Q&A with the author – and then open mic for poetry and prose.
Hertzler's writing has been nominated for The Pushcart Prize, and his poetry and short stories have appeared in numerous publications, including Stand Up Poetry: An Expanded Anthology, In the Palm of Your Hand: The Poet's Portable Workshop, North American Review, Margie, Nimrod and the Los Angeles Times. His work has also been produced on stage and for radio and television. Hertzler served with the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, 1969-70, and he now owns Caernarvon Press in San Diego.
Writers Read is hosted by the Café des Artistes, at 103 S. Main Street, in Fallbrook. Entrance to the Café is from the rear parking lot behind the Fallbrook Art Center on Main Street. The Café opens at 5:30 p.m.
