SD Democratic summer steamroller gains speed


San Diego's largest and most productive voter registration events are coming up. Your assistance will help us reach our goal of registering 10,000 Democrats this year. We have registered 4,000 people to vote thus far. Thank you to all of our volunteers!

U.S. Open Sand Castle Competition

DATE: Sat/Sun, July 12 & 13
SHIFTS: 9a - 1p, 1p - 5p
LOCATION: Front entrance of State Senator Denise Ducheny's house
127 Evergreen Ave near Seacoast Drive
PARKING: Street parking or in the Mar Vista High School lot - 505 Elm Ave

Volunteers will be dispersed with clipboards throughout the event.

Please RSVP and indicate which date and shift you would like to work.

Training and supplies will be provided.

On Saturday, the street festival begins. Over 140 vendors set up for the weekend activities. Continued with entertainment, food, arts and crafts and lots of fun. Expected attendance is 300,000 people.

On Sunday, the official U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition will be held. This is the championship of sandcastle building where the professional sand carvers vie for the title of Master's Champion. Sandcastle building begins at 8:30am and concludes at 1:30pm Sculptures are only available for viewing until 4:00pm due to the tides.

Sat/Sun July 19 & 20
The Democratic team has registered over 800 new voters at past Gay Pride events, and anticipate as many as 1,000 new voters to register during this great, sea change election years.
