Wallace Tucker to speak at Democratic Club meeting

Wallace Tucker, chairman of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy, will present an environmental perspective on the current state of affairs in the community and across the globe at the next meeting of the Fallbrook Democratic Club.

“Nature: Beauty or Beast? Environmental Issues Local & Global” is the topic for the presentation by the renowned astrophysicist and environmental leader. Wallace Tucker founded the Fallbrook Land Conservancy in 1988 and is its leader and principal spokesperson. He has served on numerous regional planning advisory groups in San Diego County. He received a PhD in physics from UC San Diego and is Science Spokesman for the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory’s Chandra X-ray Center. He has authored or coauthored two physics textbooks and five popular-level books on astronomy.

The public is cordially invited to join club members at this informative and important discussion of current environmental issues.

The club will also be selling advance tickets for its annual picnic, set for September 9.

The Fallbrook Democratic club’s meeting on the environment is set for Thursday, August 3, at 7 p.m., at the FPUD Board Room, 990 E. Mission Road.
