Case against San Onofre before O'side city council

Residents in San Diego and Orange Counties have been asking local City Councils to add San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) to their council meeting agendas so that experts may address the councilmembers about this critical safety issue. The concerned citizens will make a presentation to the Oceanside City Council on Wed. evening to study the issue and be invited to join the other city councils in the county in a vote of non-support for SONGS re-opening.

On June 19 an expert spoke at the City of Del Mar Council. Last week residents spoke during public comment segment of the City of Encinitas Council Meeting and last month at the City of Vista. Encinitas agreed to place the SONGS item on a future Council Agenda and the Vista Council was grateful for the information brought to their attention and will consider making SONGS an Agenda item. Del Mar will continue further deliberation at future meetings.
