As many as 200,000 student activists tied Montreal's downtown in knots Thursday, peacefully protesting tuition increases, the largest in a series of student demonstrations so far this year. Students demonstrating in Montreal and across the province say higher fees mean higher debt for them and their parents. - Students, some with their faces painted, carried signs and flags, chanted and marched down the city's major arteries, paralyzing the downtown core of the country's second largest city. - There were no reports of violence Thursday.
