Gala highlight for North County Liberal community
Largest annual gathering of liberals in North County: Celebration of liberal letter writing
I'm happy to announce that the 14th annual Letters to the Editor Awards Night will be held on Jan. 29, 2011. Our program will consist entirely of the most powerful, logical, factual, courageous, well-written and entertaining — the best and worst — of the 6,000-plus letters printed in the Community Voices section of the North County Times in 2010.
Letters Night is an opportunity for local liberals and progressives to meet and socialize with each other and some of the great letter-writers in North County, and to celebrate ourselves and our voice in "the cacophony of democracy." Last year, 250 people attended and had a great time.
Because we were filled to capacity last year, we'll be making more room for seats and won't be serving the big, wonderful meal we had in previous years. There will still be a social hour however, with finger foods and beverages. And in addition to the Letters Awards program, there will be wonderful songs by Jim and Marie Hayes once again.
RSVP to me at mailto:ncforum@sbcglobal.net, or call 760-758-2410. Exact time and location information will be given when you respond with your RSVP.
This year, there will be a raffle, and those who RSVP earlier will get more tickets.
