Senior Republican Ken Mehlman comes out as gay
Announcement:
Aug. 26 - One of the key architects of the Bush-era Republican election machine that exploited anti-gay prejudices to motivate its conservative base has disclosed that he is gay and is lobbying to legalise same-sex marriage. "It's taken me 43 years to get comfortable with this part of my life," said Ken Mehlman, a former chairman of the Republican national committee and the manager of George Bush's 2004 presidential campaign, in an interview published on the Atlantic's website.

Free Film Nights at Leo Carrillo Ranch

2010 Film Nights at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park in Carlsbad. Free admission! Film on Sep. 10 is Sin Town, 1942. All films begin at sunset and star Leo Carrillo, an actor most famous for his role as Pancho in the TV show "Cisco Kid" during the 1960s. Carillo was also politically active and an environmentalist way ahead of his time.

The Fallbrook Democratic Club will hold its sixth Annual Fall Picnic on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Great food, speakers, a silent auction and live music by local guitarist and singer Larry Robinson will entertain guests in an outdoor patio setting at 1815 S. Stagecoach Lane. Keynote speaker will be Jess Durfee, Chairman of the San Diego Democratic Party. Featured speaker will be STEVE GRONKE, candidate for SD Supervisor.


BV Creek Valley Work Session/Celebration
