Bush never showed up for National Guard duty for a period of approximately one year, possibly more, in 1972-1973. Despite all the talk about "honor and dignity," Bush seems to have a problem showing up for duty -- for over a year. If Bush deserted while serving in Alabama, and even elected President of the United States, then Sgt. Bo Bergdahl, who served in fierce combat in Afghanistan, should be given the Presidential Medal of honor.

Obama's steady and relentless assault against civil liberties --The White House has asked the US Second Circuit Court of Appeals to place an emergency stay on a ruling made last week by a federal judge so that the president's power to indefinitely detain Americans without charge is reaffirmed immediately. -- On Wednesday, September 12, US District Court Judge Katherine Forrest made permanent a temporary injunction she issued in May that bars the federal government from abiding by the indefinite detention provision in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, or NDAA. Judge Forrest ruled that a clause that gives the government the power to arrest US citizens suspected of maintaining alliances with terrorists and hold them without due process violated the Constitution and that the White House would be stripped of that ability immediately.

REPORT: San Onofre most dangerous plant in U.S.

Problems with the steam generators at the San Onofre nuclear power plant are the most severe found in comparable generators anywhere in the U.S. nuclear industry, according to a new report commissioned by Friends of the Earth. According to NRC data on 31 reactors with comparable replacement steam generators, San Onofre has more than three and a half times the number of steam tubes plugged as a safety measure than at the other reactors combined.

They opened up the camps for reporters and the world to see.
