Same-sex marriages begin in the South
Sunday, 10/12/2014
Gay and lesbian couples are getting legally married in the South for the first time, crossing a threshold into a conservative region that long stood united against same-sex marriage. -- The U.S. Supreme Court's decision Monday to turn away appeals from a handful of states including Virginia means marriage bans are unconstitutional throughout the 4th U.S. Circuit. And that means similar bans in West Virginia and North and South Carolina should fall as soon as judges in each state follow through on the appellate court's orders.

When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at a rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundredth blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it but all that had gone before.

Don't believe what they are trying to sell. -- There is no "independent commission" which can regulate excessive health insurance rate hikes. Rates have gone up 185% in the last decade. Right now, no one in California has the authority to regulate excessive health insurance rate hikes. We need Prop 45 to fix that hole in healthcare reform.

Here is her response to question about Marriage Equality for gays: She's for marriage equality, and she distilled exactly why right down to natural facts of the matter better than most: the US constitution's 14th amendment, and love. --- "I favor marriage equality. And I want to make sure that people who love each other, who are willing to be in a committed to be relationship with each other, and who desire should do so. This is a constitutional provision in our law right now, but it's been challenged by Mr. Abbott. And we await the court's decision whether this is in keeping with the U.S Constitution."

Prop 45 changes all that. -- Backed by consumer advocates, Prop 45 will require health insurance companies to justify their rate hikes before they take effect. Don't be fooled by the health insurance industry's lies: No state or federal agency can now stop excessive rate hikes in California. -- Vote YES on Prop 45.

"I Refuse to Let Technology Control Me."

Rapper/artist Prince Ea declares "Why I Refuse to Let Technology Control Me." Did you know that a person spends an accumulated four years of his or her life looking down at their cellphone? That's a virtual life of pixels on a screen, rather than a real life with real circumstances. -- Prince Ea continues to describe how Facebook has become the ANTI-social network because it separates and disconnects people rather than connects them. Even when people are in the same room, or same bed even, their iPhone or iPad is still the focus of their attention.

The brilliant Glenn Greenwald OWNS Toobin Again!

Observe Toobin's face. He can't even hide that he's an establishment shill. The way he rolls his eyes and smirks bespeaks his elitist mindset. He's not half the lawyer Greenwald. Every time Toobin and Greenwald go at it, Toobin leaves with a black eye. Toobin is the punching bag/bullet sponge of choice for the establishment media every time they need someone to absorb Greenwald's abuse.
