This 'N ThatI'm not disturbing the peace. I'm disturbing the war. - Ammon Hennacy, US Labor leaderAngry heart -- you have no chance against my prayers. - Mary Moreno We cannot change the past, but we can change our attitude toward it. Uproot guilt and plant forgiveness. Tear out arrogance and seed humility. Exchange love for hate --- thereby, making the present comfortable and the future promising. - Maya Angelou To resort to power one need not be violent, and to speak to conscience one need not be meek. The most effective action both resorts to power and engages conscience. Nonviolent actions does not have to get others to be nice. It can in effect force them to consult their consciences. Nor does it have to petition those in power to do something about a situation. It can face the authorities with a new fact and say: Accept this new situation which we have created. - Barbara Deming Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace. - Albert Schweitzer It is reasonable that every one who asks justice should do justice. - Thomas Jefferson Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of humans as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is not safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. - Helen Keller Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. - Martin Luther King, Jr. Smiling is very important. If we are not able to smile, then the world will not have peace. It is not by going out for a demonstration against nuclear missiles that we can bring about peace. It is with our capacity of smiling, breathing, and being peace that we can make peace. - Thich Nhat Hanh When you're finally up on the moon, looking back at the earth, all these differences and nationalistic traits are pretty well going to blend and you're going to get a concept that maybe this is really one world and why the hell can't we learn to live together like decent people? - Frank Borman God grant me the courage to change the things I can, the patience to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference. - The Serenity Prayer Someday they'll give a war and nobody will come. - Carl Sandburg What all men fear, I too must fear - how barren and pointless a thought! - Tao Te Ching I expect to pass through this world but once, therefore any good that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not come this way again. - Stephen Grellett 1773-1855 The first principle of non-violent action is that of non-cooperation with everything humiliating. - Cesar Chavez When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at a rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundredth blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it but all that had gone before. - Jacob Riis War is as outmoded as cannibalism, chattel slavery, blood-feuds, and dueling, an insult to God and humanity...a daily crucifixion of Christ. - Muriel Lester It is penance to work, to give oneself to others, to endure the pinpricks of community living. - Dorothy Day Fear less, hope more, - Whine less, breathe more, Freedom is actually a bigger game than power. Power is about what you can control. Freedom is about what you can unleash. - Harriet Rubin We are convinced that non-violence is more powerful than violence. We are convinced that non-violence supports you if you have a just and moral cause...If you use violence, you have to sell part of yourself for that violence. Then you are no longer a master of your own struggle. - Cesar Chavez In all the ways you can, - In all the places you can, And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. - Isaiah 2:4 When we yield to discouragement it is usually because we give too much thought to the past and to the future. - St. Therese of Lisieux Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of creative alternatives for responding to conflict -- alternatives to passive or aggressive responses, alternatives to violence. - Dorothy Thompson Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. - John F. Kennedy While you are proclaiming peace with your lips, be careful to have it even more fully in your heart. - St. Francis of Assisi Sensitivity to the immense needs of humanity brings with it a spontaneous rejection of the arms race, which is incompatible with the all out struggle against hunger, sickness, under-development and illiteracy. - Pope John Paul II War is, at first, the hope that one will be better off; next, the expectation that the other fellow will be worse off; then, the satisfaction that he isn't any better off; and, finally, the surprise at everyone's being worse off. - Karl Kraus (1874-1936) The first essential characteristics of nonviolent action is that it is creative. - Hildegarde Goss-Mayr Nonviolence doesn't always work -- but violence never does. - Madge Michaels-Cyrus Violence just hurts those who are already hurt...Instead of exposing the brutality of the oppressor, it justifies it. - Cesar Chavez Peace is not a relationship of nations. It is a condition of mind brought about by a serenity of soul. Peace is not merely an absence of war. It is also a state of mind. Lasting peace can come only to peaceful people. - Jawaharlal Nehru The dark night is over and dawn has begun. Rise, hope of the ages, arise like the sun! All speech, flow to music; all hearts, beat as one. - John Greenleaf Whittier If you think you're too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito in the room. - Anita Koddick Wars are not acts of God. They are caused by man, by man-made institutions, by the way in which man has organized his society. What man has made, man can change. - Frederick Moore Vinson, Speech at Arlington National Cemetery (Memorial Day, 1945) |

"Why the Ukraine Crisis Is the West’s Fault" Article By John Mearsheimer -- the United States and its European allies share most of the responsibility for the crisis. The taproot of the trouble is NATO enlargement, the central element of a larger strategy to move Ukraine out of Russia's orbit and integrate it into the West. At the same time, the EU’s expansion eastward and the West’s backing of the pro-democracy movement in Ukraine -- beginning with the Orange Revolution in 2004 -- were critical elements, too. Since the mid-1990s, Russian leaders have adamantly opposed NATO enlargement, and in recent years, they have made it clear that they would not stand by while their strategically important neighbor turned into a Western bastion.

Obama, Cameron bombastic invective against Russia News In a sharp escalation of war drums, Pres. Obama and PM Cameron
penned an op-ed piece in The Times of London, which was published Thursday. “As Russia holds a gun to Ukraine and Islamic extremists commit despicable murder, NATO must strengthen its alliance,” they warned in the newspaper appeal, citing the recent “utterly despicable murders” of two American journalists as “evidence of a brutal and poisonous extremism.” -- Actually NATO and most specifically its proxy, UKRAINE, have been the aggressors, with constant bombardment of Ukraian civilians in the east adjacent to Russia's borders for over six weeks. HE LIED to the nation! -- James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) LIED to congress. Let me repeat that for you - he didn't "mislead" -- he LIED! Why he isn't under the jail? Congress impeached Pres. Bill Clinton for equivocating about a sexual dalliance, but Congress sucked up to James Clapper who outright lied about a grave criminal and unconstitutional policy.
