Ferguson: Police arrest 31 including 2 journalists

(Aug. 19) Ferguson last night: Police "Come Under Heavy Gunfire", Arrest 31, including a photographer and Intercep reporter Ryan Devereaux, detained this morning while on the ground covering the protests in Ferguson, Mo. According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch photographer David Carson, who witnessed the apprehension. Ryan and a German reporter he was with were both taken into custody by members of a police tactical team. They were handcuffed and placed in a wagon, and Carson was told they were being taken to St. Louis County jail.

Holocaust survivor: Gaza seige 'Not in my name'
Suzanne Weiss, a Holocaust survivor based in Toronto, joined more than 250 Jewish Holocaust survivors and descendants of survivors in condemning "the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza" and "the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people." The statement of solidarity calls for "an immediate end to the siege against and the blockade of Gaza" and a "full economic, cultural and academic boycott of Israel."

90-Year Holocaust Survivor, Arrested in Ferguson
Hedy Epstein, 90-Year-Old Holocaust Survivor, Arrested During Michael Brown Protest. Epstein, who aided Allied forces in the Nuremberg trials, was placed under arrest in downtown St. Louis, Missouri "for failing to disperse" during a protest of Governor Jay Nixon's decision to call in National Guard into Ferguson. 8 others were also arrested. -- "I've been doing this since I was a teenager. I didn't think I would have to do it when I was ninety," Epstein told The Nation during her arrest. "We need to stand up today so that people won't have to do this when they're ninety."

Feinstein proud U.S. giving few pennies to Gaza
An initial estimate for the cost for rebuilding Gaza after the Israeli bombardment is $6 Billion ... yet Sen. Dianne Feinstein prodly boasts in her letter from this editor that the United States is providing $47 Million (0.0028 %). Not even a few pennies on the dollar. How generous !.

Victorville Dad tasered to death by cops
VICTORVILLE, CA - Family members on Wednesday mourned the loss of a father of five and a beloved newspaper pressman who died while in police custody after deputies killed him with a Taser stun gun on him. Family and co-workers of Dante Parker, 36, said the Victorville resident was a hard-working, well-liked pressman with a good sense of humor who loved to sing on the job. They said he took good care of his family and had been riding his bicycle for years to lose weight.

Both Feinstein & Boxer vote for Israeli war
There is no limit to the support for Israeli war crimes among Democrats in Congress. Both Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer voted to support Israel's criminal aggression against the people of Gaza, in a Senate resolution on July 10, 2014. Since then over 400 Palestinian children have been killed by Israel. -- The United States Senate is in Israel's camp,” Graham said on the Senate floor Thursday. -- Passage of the resolution came moments after Israel announced that it launched a ground offensive into the Gaza Strip, following a week of heavy rocket attacks from Hamas forces.

March Merced to Mex. border now in San Diego
On July 22 a group of women and children left Merced, California on a journey south to the US-Mexico border in San Ysidro to pressure the Obama administration to put a halt to its deportation enforcement only policies; call for an end to the use of police as immigration enforcement agents; demand an end to family separations; and stem the tide of racial profiling that has incarcerated so many migrants and African Americans.

10,000 in Tel Aviv Protest Occupation of Palestine
In the largest protest of its kind in years, 10,000-15,000 Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv to call for a just peace with Palestinians and to protest Israel’s occupation and Gaza military operations. -- The gathering is particularly significant given that, in previous anti-war rallies since the beginning of hostilities in Gaza, right-wing nationalists have attacked and sometimes beaten progressive protesters, leaving anti-war activists in Israel feeling increasingly threatened.

Woman beaten by CHP officer speaks out on TV
For the first time, the woman who was beaten by a CHP officer on the side of the 10 Freeway is speaking out, telling ABC7's Marc Brown she feared for her life as the officer pummeled her "with all his strength, with his hands all up over his head, giving it all he had." The woman walking on the eastbound 10 Freeway near the La Brea Avenue on-ramp was tackled on the roadside shoulder by a CHP officer. David Diaz shot the video of the violent confrontation from his car.

Global Climate Summit in NYC in Sept.
From 350.org --US President Barack Obama and Chinese Premier Xi Jinping both announced they'll be traveling to New York at the invitation of Ban Ki-moon to talk about global warming. That's good -- we need them talking. 350.org will have tens of thousands there demonstrating for action. The People's Climate March will walk through the canyons of Manhattan in the world's largest demonstration yet about climate change. In SAN DIEGO:Sunday, Sept 21: SanDiego350 will hold our local version of the People's Climate March in conjunction with the huge event in New York. We'll gather at 12:30pm at San Diego City Hall, march to the new County Administration Park for a rally that will end by 4pm.

U.S. arrogance could spark hot WAR with Russia

Stephen Cohen, Professor emeritus and expert on Russian history and politics, on FOX Radio: Americas failed Policies in Ukraine, right from the beginning. Prof. Cohen recommends guarded suspicion of U.S. government lies so prevalent in our past wars. A message we take to heart about Iraq and Afghanistan, but strangely discount in Ukraine. Sen Sanders, Eliz. Warren support Israeli genocide

Sen. Bernie Sanders not only defends military contracts that benefit his constituents in Vermont, he also joined the 100 to 0 vote in the Senate to give unalloyed moral and political support to the state of Israel during its most recent bombing campaign against Gaza. So did liberal darling Elizabeth Warren.
