This 'N ThatI'd like someone to mention the day that Martin Luther King, Jr., tried to give his life serving others. I'd like somebody to say that day, that Martin Luther King tried to love somebody. I want you to say that day, that I tried to be right on the war question. I want you to be able to say that day, that I did try to feed the hungry . . . I want you to say that I tried to love and serve humanity. Yes, if you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice; say that I was a drum major for peace; I was a drum major for righteousness . . . I want to leave a committed life behind. - Martin Luther King, Jr.Taking the first footstep with a good thought, the second with a good word, and the third with a good deed, I entered paradise. - Zoroaster I don't do great things. I do small things with great love. - Mother Teresa I believe in compulsory cannibalism. If people were forced to eat what they killed there would be no more war. - Abbie Hoffman The poor cannot be convinced that God is neutral . . . - Author Unknown I'm not disturbing the peace. I'm disturbing the war. - Ammon Hennacy, US Labor leader Until lions have their historians, tales of the hunt shall always glorify the hunters. - African Proverb War is, at first, the hope that one will be better off; next, the expectation that the other fellow will be worse off; then, the satisfaction that he isn't any better off; and, finally, the surprise at everyone's being worse off. - Karl Kraus (1874-1936) The master's tools will never destroy the master's house. - Audre Lorde, Sister Outsider Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness, that must frighten us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, Courageous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. You playing small does not help the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And when we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. When we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. - Nelson Mandela A bad peace is even worse than war. - Tactitus Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess. - Oscar Wilde Nobody realizes that some people expend a tremendous amount of energy merely to be normal. - Albert Camus Don't ever let them pull you down so low as to hate them. (also cited as: I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him.) - Booker T. Washington Gandhi once declared that it was his wife who unwittingly taught him the effectiveness of nonviolence. Who better than we should know all the power that resides in noncooperation? - Barbara Deming The first casualty when war comes is truth. - Senator Hiram Johnson, 1917 The longer we listen to one another - with real attention - the more commonality we will find in all our lives. That is, if we are careful to exchange with one another life stories and not simply opinions. - Barbara Deming In the twilight of life, God will not judge us on our earthly possessions and human success, but rather on how much we have loved. - St. John of the Cross Violence produces only something resembling justice, but it distances people from the possibility of living justly, without violence. - Leo Tolstoy Non-violence, which is the quality of the heart, cannot come by an appeal to the brain. - Cesar Chavez The ultimate measure of a person is not where one stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where one stands in times of challenge and controversy. - Martin Luther King Non-violence is a very powerful weapon. Most people don't understand the power of non-violence and tend to be amazed by the whole idea. Those who have been involved in bringing about change and see the difference between violence and non-violence are firmly committed to a lifetime of non-violence, not because it is easy or because it is cowardly, but because it is an effective and very powerful way. - Cesar Chavez When we yield to discouragement it is usually because we give too much thought to the past and to the future. - St. Therese of Lisieux Alan John Percivale Taylor - Unknown We must be prepared to make heroic sacrifices for the cause of peace that we make ungrudgingly for the cause of war. There is no task that is more important or closer to my heart. - Albert Einstein If you succumb to the temptation of using violence in the struggle, unborn generations will be the recipients of a long and desolate night of bitterness, and your chief legacy to the future will be an endless reign of meaningless chaos. - Martin Luther King Jr. At all the times you can, - To all the people you can, . . . [T]o live not with hands clenched to grasp, to strike, to hold tight to a life that is always slipping away the more tightly we hold it, but . . . to live with the hands stretched out both to give and receive with gladness. - (Carl) Frederick Buechner It belongs to the very substance of nonviolence never to destroy or damage another person's feeling of self worth, even an opponent's. Commitment to nonviolence demands a very profound conversion of mind and heart. If we take the time to pray with Jesus, we too will be converted in mind and heart. It won’t work if we try to reason it out. The only way is through a change of heart, a coming into a way of being that is the way of Jesus. - Bishop Thomas Gumbleton If peace . . . only had the music and pageantry of war, there'd be no wars. - Sophie Kerr If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality. - Bishop Desmond Tutu Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it. - Andre Gide If we could raise one generation with unconditional love, there would be no Hitlers. We can make our choices built from love or from fear.. - Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at a rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Articles & News: Worst war crimes exposed by Bradley Manning Article Many in Media Claim Bradley Manning's Leaks Had Little Value—Here's Why They're So Wrong. The list is a staggering bombshell. Manning has served the American people well. If Manning is the enemy of America, then America is the enemy of truth. This is why the "Security Mafia" is doing such a mad dancing dervish on TV this week to justify their grand scheme to build a Total Surveillance State, based on a fear of terrorism. In doing so, they have to eradicate our government of the people, by the people and for the people from the face of the earth. (From THE NATION, by Greg Mitchell) Leaker Snowden responds to Feinstein, Dick Cheney Article SNOWDEN: - "... it's important to bear in mind I'm being called a traitor by men like former Vice President Dick Cheney. This is a man who gave us the warrantless wiretapping scheme as a kind of atrocity warm-up on the way to deceitfully engineering a conflict that has killed over 4,400 and maimed nearly 32,000 Americans, as well as leaving over 100,000 Iraqis dead. Being called a traitor by Dick Cheney is the highest honor you can give an American, and the more panicked talk we hear from people like him, Feinstein, and King, the better off we all are."
Allies outraged by US snooping scandal News EU Observer - "The German government is demanding explanations from the US after it emerged that its secret spying programme Prism collected more information from Germany than any other EU country.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel is expected to raise the issue when she receives US President Barack Obama in Berlin next week, her spokesman said on Monday (10 June). Data privacy is a very sensitive topic in Germany and the cluelessness of Merkel's government about the affair may become an issue in September's elections."

Bradley Manning's Legal Duty to Expose War Crimes Article The trial of Pvt. Bradley Manning is the last and most sordid chapter in the most sordid American war since Vietnam. We lost the Iraq War. We lost our reputation. We lost our young men. We lost our soul and we lost our treasury. We even lost the oil. They Chinese have won the oil of Iraq, and the rapacious Fascist corporations and war profiteers stole our treasury. The domestic enemies who committed these war crimes have not been held accountable. None of them have gone to trial, and none is in jail. But Pvt. Bradley "Manning fulfilled his legal duty to report war crimes. He complied with his legal duty to obey lawful orders but also his legal duty to disobey unlawful orders", writes San Diego Constitutional lawyer Marjorie Cohn. Sen. Feinstein: Truthtelling is NOT treason! News Sign PETITION to FEINSTEIN: -- Edward Snowden is the 29 year-old whistleblower who recently leaked the vast surveillance capabilities of US spy agencies, exposing to the public just how much the government is spying on American citizens. Within days, Senator Feinstein (D-CA), chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, accused Snowden of committing treason. Join us to tell Senator Feinstein: Truthtelling is NOT treason, and the American people deserve privacy and government transparency! SIGN THE PETITION:
NSA's secret 'Dream Recording' Project leaked News THE LATEST NSA LEAK: -- The OMNISCIENT see all, know all National Security Agency has gone one level deeper: It is now seeking to record your dreams while you sleep. Brain waves are similar to electro-magnetic waves and can be recorded. Neuroscientists have long been engaged in the science of reading brain waves, first recording them on data graphs and more recently with blurry images, but NSA’s team of research neuroscientists in a top-secret program for dream recording, has progressed far beyond that.
Obama's Covert Trade Deal - most radical ever Article Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) scheme - A secret scheme orchestrated by trans-global corporations has been negotiated since 2008. It would set new rules for everything from food safety and financial markets to medicine prices and Internet freedom. It would include at least 12 of the countries bordering the Pacific and be open for more to join. President Obama has said he wants to sign it by October. So why keep it a secret? Because Mr. Obama wants the agreement to be given fast-track treatment on Capitol Hill. Under this extraordinary and rarely used procedure, he could sign the agreement before Congress voted on it. And Congress's post-facto vote would be under rules limiting debate, banning all amendments and forcing a quick vote. NSA director lying at US Senate hearing on drones
March 12, 2013- Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) asks questions in Senate Intelligence Committee on warrantless geolocation surveillance and National Security Agency tracking. -- One viewer wrote "Lie, after lie, after lie. They track, they spy, they have everyone's emails and phone calls. We know all about the way this regime is treating it's citizens. IRS, AP, FOX reporter Rosen. Do YOU still trust Obama and his thugs? Wake up!" -- In fact, after the newly leaked documents from the Guardian, we know the NSA director, James Clapper was lying to the senators. We await the prosecution of Clapper.

Feinstein defends NSA telephone metadata spying
Our own Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein is OK with the outrageous totalitarian NSA spying on all the American people. Feinstein said the collection of telephone records from millions of Verizon Communications customers was legal. The U.S. National Security Agency able to obtain a secret court order to collect telephone metadata thanks to the Patriot Act. "This is just metadata," Feinstein said. Feinstein needs to retire. She has lost her respect for Constitutional law and rights. == The Bill of Rights Exists: CLICK HERE: An Open Letter to Dianne Feinstein-- by Norman Solomon Feinstein was inside schemer for NSA horrors News "The reason there are leakers is precisely because the govt is filled with people like Dianne Feinstein who do horrendous things in secret." Glenn Greenwald] -- Sen. Diane Feinstein, who chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, acknowledged that she has been well aware of the NSA's collecting of vast amounts of personal phone record data, but said the practice was totally "legal." Ellsberg to march for Bradley Manning at SF Pride
Apr 29, 2013 -- Vietnam War whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg speaks at the protest of San Francisco Gay Pride's decision to revoke the previous choice of Bradley Manning as an Honorary Grand Marshal of its 2013 parade. "Bradley Manning did not harm or place in harms way a single serviceman", stated Ellsberg, who proclaimed his total support for Manning. It was Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz who placed our solders in harm's way, declared Ellsberg, age 82, will be marching to support the honor, patriotism, courage and integrity of the young soldier. The imperious retraction of the selection of Manning has created a virulent backlash against the new conservative board leadership.
US allies angered by US spying on them News By Glenn Greenwald - "The National Security Agency has developed a powerful tool for recording and analysing where its intelligence comes from, raising questions about its repeated assurances to Congress that it cannot keep track of all the surveillance it performs on American communications. -- The Guardian has acquired top-secret documents about the NSA datamining tool, called Boundless Informant, that details and even maps by country the voluminous amount of information it collects from computer and telephone networks." Good news, Bradley Manning trial Day 6
Day 6, June 12, 2013 - Testimony of a military computer experts says there is no positive proof on Manning's personal computer that gave proof Manning was trying to make contact with terrorists. The military prosecution is fishing for evidence that Manning aided the enemy, but has found none.
PFC Manning - Aiding the enemy or American public?
If Pfc. Bradley Manning is convicted of 'aiding the enemy,' it could be the end of whistleblowing as we know it in the United States Armed Forces. This video, entitled "Aiding the Enemy," is to raise awareness of the dangers posed to the American public by leveling this charge at Bradley Manning, and recruit people to our campaign urging Major General Michael Linnington to drop the charge immediately. Manning written testimony Feb. 2013: "The dehumanized the individuals they were engaging and seemed to not value human life by referring to them as quote “dead bastards” unquote and congratulating each other on the ability to kill in large numbers. At one point in the video there is an individual on the ground attempting to crawl to safety. The individual is seriously wounded. Instead of calling for medical attention to the location, one of the aerial weapons team crew members verbally asks for the wounded person to pick up a weapon so that he can have a reason to engage. For me, this seems similar to a child torturing ants with a magnifying glass.
While saddened by the aerial weapons team crew’s lack of concern about human life, I was disturbed by the response of the discovery of injured children at the scene. In the video, you can see that the bongo truck driving up to assist the wounded individual. In response the aerial weapons team crew — as soon as the individuals are a threat, they repeatedly request for authorization to fire on the bongo truck and once granted they engage the vehicle at least six times.
Shortly after the second engagement, a mechanized infantry unit arrives at the scene. Within minutes, the aerial weapons team crew learns that children were in the van and despite the injuries the crew exhibits no remorse. Instead, they downplay the significance of their actions, saying quote "Well, it's their fault for bringing their kids into a battle" unquote. -- The aerial weapons team crew members sound like they lack sympathy for the children or the parents. Later in a particularly disturbing manner, the aerial weapons team verbalizes enjoyment at the sight of one of the ground vehicles driving over a body -- or one of the bodies."
Big Brother in the sky is really BIG-G-G-G!
This is the high resolution camera that is carried in drones. The government will not confirm. From 17,000 feet above, ARGUS sees and records everything, even the flight of birds, walking pedestrians, which stall you parked your car in. It can surveil an entire city at one time, 24 hours a day, every day. It is mounted on the Predator Drone, manufactured here in San Diego County.
Chat with whistleblower Edward Snowden News The Guardian, which has been publishing stories containing disclosures from NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, hosted a Q&A with Snowden online. Snowden addressed various smears and questions. (FireDogLake.com) Another patriotic whistleblower rattles cages
Edward Snowden comes forward as source of NSA leaks - A 29-year-old man who says he is a former undercover CIA employee said Sunday that he was the principal source of recent disclosures about top-secret National Security Agency programs, exposing himself to possible prosecution in an acknowledgment that had little if any precedent in the long history of U.S. intelligence leaks. Snowden will go down in history as one of America's most consequential whistleblowers, alongside Daniel Ellsberg and Bradley Manning. "We hack everyone everywhere," he told the Guardian's Glenn Greenwald in the foreign hotel where he has taken refuge. "I had the authorities to wiretap anyone – you, a federal judge, to even the president if I had a personal email." -- "I realised that I was part of something that was doing far more harm than good." "The government has granted itself power it is not entitled to. There is no public oversight. The result is people like myself have the latitude to go further than they are allowed to," he said.

Michelle Obama overreacts to speech interruption
Michelle Obama displayed her intolerance at a political Democratic fund raiser when she was interrupted by a lesbian who asked for support for the End Non-Discrimination Act to protect gay and lesbians from unfair and spiteful firing for being gay. Obama refused to hear or endorse the protester's argument: -- WASHINGTON -- First lady Michelle Obama's speech Tuesday evening at a private Democratic National Committee fundraiser was interrupted by a protester, who demanded equality for gays and lesbians. -- About 12 minutes into Obama's 20-minute speech, a woman standing at the front of the crowd began yelling for an executive order on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights. -- Ms. Obama left the lectern and approached the protester, inviting the woman to "listen to me, or you can take the mic, but I'm leaving. You all decide. You have one choice." - Obama refused to endorse ENDA, or to listen further to the protester's grievance. -- The protester was then escorted out, saying she wanted "federal equality before I die." -- Heather Cronk, co-director of the pro-LGBT rights group GetEQUAL, said the protester was Ellen Sturtz, 56, one of the organization's activists. -- --Sturtz was calling for an executive order to bar discrimination by federal contractors based on sexual orientation or gender identity. LGBT groups have been disappointed that President Barack Obama has refused to issue such an order, while the Employment Non-Discrimination Act -- which would prohibit such discrimination in hiring more broadly -- remains stuck in Congress.

Mandela and other members of the African National Congress have been on the list because of their fight against South Africa's apartheid regime, which gave way to majority rule in 1994.
