This 'N That

No matter how big a nation is, it is no stronger that its weakest people, and as long as you keep a person down, some part of you has to be down there to hold him down, so it means you cannot soar as you might otherwise.

If there is to be any peace it will come through being, not having.

To save one life, it is as if you had saved the world.

When men talk about defense, they always claim to be protecting women and children, but they never ask the women and children what they think.

Mr.Obama, did or did you not kill Anwar al-Awlaki?
Article
There are plenty of problems with President Obama's targeted killings in the war against terrorism: The policy remains secret in most aspects, involves no judicial review, has resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians, has been employed far from any battlefield and has sparked deep anti-American resentment in countries where we can ill afford it. -- one problem looms largest: The policy permits the government to kill its citizens in secret while refusing to acknowledge, even after the fact, that it has done so. Col. Wilkerson Warns Obama's Drone war illegal

Col. Lawrence Wilkerson Warns Obama's Drone War Violates International Law - the longtime aide to former Secretary of State Colin Powell -- warns against the expanding U.S. drone war and President Obama's nomination of one of its key architects, John Brennan, to head the Central Intelligence Agency. "What's happening with drone strikes around the world right now is, in my opinion, as bad a development as many of the things we now condemn so readily with 20/20 hindsight in the George W. Bush administration. We are creating more enemies than we are killing. We're doing things that violate international law, even killing American citizens without due process and have an attorney general that has says due process does not necessarily include the legal process."
