This is probably the MOST important issue Oceanside residents and businesses have had to deal with since the new Council majority got into power: they have an item on the Agenda tomorrow, July 6th, 4pm, to support the Gregory Canyon Dump. This dump will be located on the San Luis Rey River which supplies over 15% of drinking water to Oceanside. We must all oppose this move by the council majority in order to safeguard our water supply! Without adequate local water, our water bills will go sky high!

Section Four of the Fourteenth Amendment states, at its outset, that "the validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned." From this language, it's not hard to argue that the Constitution places both payments on the debt and payments owed to groups like Social Security recipients--pensioners, that is--above the vagaries of Congressional politics.
