The shame of America's dismal health care
A British journalist was aghast at the thousands of poor who came to the giant healthcare clinic set up in the Los Angeles at the Forum. "I've been very conservative in my outlook for the whole of my life. I've been described as being about 90,000 miles to the right of Attila the Hun. But I think one reaches the reality that something [Healthcare] doesn't work... In this country something has to be done. And as a proud member of the US community but a loyal British subject to the core, I would say that if Britain could fix it in 1944, surely we could fix it here in America." Read More

OBAMA: Why we need Health Insurance Reform
OP-ed by Barack Obama - "...this isn’t about politics. This is about people’s lives and livelihoods. This is about people’s businesses. LC Town Square CC Hearing Again
Tuesday, 08/18/2009
Another Carlsbad City Council hearing will be held regarding building a monstrous shopping center. They are starting to weaken on parts of this ill-conceived megacenter, but they have not relented on the Big Box which is big enough at 98,000 square feet to be a super WalMart. They must remove it entirely from the EIR, not just say they won’t build it because otherwise another City Council could put it back. By Pat Bleha.
